People keep saying that Detective Pikachu is going to have the obligatory almost-swear-but-cut-away-last-second joke, and it almost certainly is going to do that
But I can’t stop thinking about the fact that the movie IS PG-13
Meaning they can get away with saying fuck once and keep it PG-13
People who are upset about Pikachu talking in the new movie seem to be unaware of what it’s based off of, and what we put up with in the source materiel…
It took me the entire game to finally get used to Pikachu’s voice
like i am So Sorry to pokemon fans but to be completely honest ‘detective story where all of the pokemon are hyperrealistic and pikachu sounds like ryan reynolds. everything feels like a fever dream’ is like the only way they were going to get my ass in a theater to see a pokemon movie so if that was detective pikachu’s goal it is fucking succeeding
real talk though people are taking the pokemon design thing waaay too seriously. theres people who are fucking furious about the designs and then theres people who are furious about the people being furious like please… it is a fun little movie about a fun little man.. going on a fun little adventure in a little detective hat… please…
