The Mighty Nein are…..insanely good at stealing stuff when they have no plan and don’t really even need it and are just acting on pure impulse cuz hey, wouldn’t this be cool?

The beacon? They could’ve stolen it with no witnesses other than a dying man while they were in the sewers. Instead they waited til the guards were carrying it through a crowded street in broad daylight and hopped in there with some disguises and a whole lot of good rolls

The boat? They didn’t want it, didn’t need it, by all rights should not have managed to get it, but they just had the impulse, and the luck, and then their best talent, generating enough chaos so that the NPCs just don’t give a fuck anymore

And now they’re pirates carrying around a priceless artifact that started a war

i thought watching Marisha and Matt roleplay lesbians flirting each other was weird but somehow them roleplaying a lesbian fake flirting with an insecure dude takes the cake
