It’s been said before but we really need to normalise the idea of not having been in a relationship / having sex / dating before your 20’s because it is literallyyyy so young and it absolutely doesn’t make anyone weird for not having had that experience before so I don’t understand why we get off shaming people for something so common
remember when tumblr had blogs with like 100k followers who had one-word urls like ‘pizza’ and they all got banned for scamming their young impressionable followers into buying weight loss supplements
(#if we reblog it enough it might become a staff pick)
Keep it up.
every time this comes up on my dash it turns out staff did something stupid again and honestly i love that. tumblr is a hivemind that will collectively dig up an old post out of spite and spite alone
PSA: the tumblr adult content purge probably affects your posts even if you’ve never posted anything remotely nsfw. Check your posts because lots of safe content has been flagged and they don’t notify you about it.
The tumblr support page linked in today’s announcement says that they always notify you if your content has been flagged, which I’ll call “misleading language” at my most generous:
As far as I see, that “notification” consists of you manually scrolling through your own post history and noticing the red stripe they’ve put on the individual posts which their algorithms deemed problematic. I received zero emails, chats, real time notifications, carrier pigeons, or anything in regards to the dozens of posts I just found erroneously flagged on my blog.
It also implies there’s some way to review all of your flagged posts at once, but I see no such option on my blog:
(”Dismiss” is not one of the options I’m given and clicking “okay” doesn’t result in a list of flagged content)
Final note, I notice that photosets and especially gifsets seem particularly prone to getting flagged, so if you’ve posted a lot of tv/movie gifsets and stuff like that, take a look.
So anyway, everybody should check their wholesome, wholesome post history to catch tumblr’s mistakes. And if anybody sees some option I missed about a list of flagged content please share!
This reblog is post #26,910 on my blog, which I’ve had for five years. It’s not practical for me to scroll through the entire freaking thing to see what Tumblr’s AI thinks is inappropriate. /cry
I don’t even get a request review option??? What the fuck?
My college doesn’t want us to make popcorn in their shitty microwaves
look I’ll be the first to agree colleges couldn’t possibly take more money from us without just making Faustian Bargains but if one more freshman trips a fire alarm at 1am and makes the whole building evacuate because they don’t know how to make popcorn I’m gonna fill the whole lobby with sand
Freshman who wants to make popcorn:
Senior who just wants to sleep:
HOW DO U FUCK UP POPCORN THERES A WHOLE ASS POPCORN BUTTON
