agreed. I’m Cree and all I ask is for people to stop relying on stereotypes and stop constantly putting us in powwow gear and doing this cookie cutter design for each of us, no matter our band. so for anon: please just do research and /talk/ to us. we all have different traits. if you have an native american OC already and you dont know their band– that’s already a red flag imo. all of us look a lot different. to be desiging a NA oc without matching their traits to their
tribe is the wrong way to go about it. or, you could always match a band that looks close to them afterwards or tweak things. but honestly, if you are making a native american oc you ought to be choosing their band FIRST. i don’t say “i’m making an asian character” because there are many different asian features and cultures etcetcetc. You choose if you want someone japanese/chinese/korean/indian etcetc.
