This is an alligator lizard, maybe Abronia graminea, but a member of Abronia at least.

These beautiful guys live in cloud forests in Mexico and Central America. I love seeing them but sort of wish they were not so prevalent on social media because they are NOT easy to keep and they are extremely endangered. If you can find a captive born and bred Abronia and are very experienced with keeping herps you could give it a try but it is so very important to ensure it is CBB and not wild caught. These guys are poached from the wild en mass and hundreds of them die in the process. Many more die after being purchased because of their difficulty of care.

Extra Fun Fact: That flower in the background is Bittersweet Nightshade, a highly poisonous plant.
