OH MY ART WAS SO T R A S H HAHA (not that it’s super nice now, I’m still struggling haha) I literally have things I posted few months ago, HECK even weeks ago which I hate with a burning passion. You know like the ‘I want to stick my pen in my eyes’ kinda hate haha
BUT! for advice I think is the biggest thing is that use real life references! I often asked my friends to be my model for different poses and etc. Also, you should definitely start with drawing still life! (It really helps when it comes to learning how to shade and draw different materials!) I mostly drew still life for one year and occasionaly drew bodies! When you start to draw people I highly recommend to start with learning how to draw a skull! If you know where the basic facial bones can be found then you are ready to start drawing faces! Then you can add the shoulders and after you got that too you can go lower and lower on the body! Just remember, always start with learning where the different bones can be found! Also, you have to know the basic human body proportions! There are a lots of amazing human anatomy books but still I advise you to learn the basics on a real human body!
You can improve your coloring by painting landscapes and by learning the complementary colors! When I first started drawing landscapes I often focused my attention on the little details and play with the colors and then when I felt confident enough I went and started focusing on the bigger picture! Watercolor worked the best for me tbh when I learned how to color!
As for encouraging words, everyone has to start somewhere. I’ve been drawing for 9 years and even though at the beginning I felt shit about my art for years I didn’t give up and it really was worth my suffering haha I wouldn’t change one thing! Nothing feels better than seeing all these people enjoying my art and what I do ❤️ I’ve met a lot of amazing people through art and I’m so thankful for that. Even if you think your art sucks there’ll be people who’ll like what you do and support you (LIKE MEEE❤️❤️) So please don’t give up future artists! Art is a lot of fun, it really helps people! I won’t lie, it takes a lot of time and determination but trust me, what comes with it and from it it’s worth your time and effort!
