andhumanslovedstories:

hey writers, you know that thing where you’ve been working on a story for so long that rereading it is an exercise in archeology, digging your way down through the 17 different draft ideas encompassed in this draft so that this short story is less one complete piece and more a fracture broken mirror expressing the multitudes of interpretations of this one idea you’ve had. your themes are contradictory and overstated, your plot has the ideas of seven plots with the events of none, and somewhere in there are sentences belonging to a different voice, a different vibe, that should have been cut months ago but endure like a probably benign mole that your fingers stutter over as you run them down this Frankenstein’s monster’s back.

me @ publishers, accept this story, I can’t graft more living tissue onto it anymore
