steven universe and my little pony frirndship is magic has the exact same major fandom problem that makes it impossible to take eother seriously as a fandom

and its that both are children’s cartoons for children that were designed to push morals like friendship, forgiveness, pacifism, and love

but the fandom consists mostly of adults who want it to be what they want instead who ignore these lessons in favor of wanting the shows to be about things like steven universe’s violent communist revolution and twilight turning evil and just grimdark grimdark grimdark

and man i’d really hate to see the cartoons you guys want honestly

a cartoon about a boy’s coming of age story about resolving a space war thousands of years old conflict with peace and love is more interesting than that boy just murdering all his enemies

Agreed.

Like, no, not all conflicts, especially corrupt and oppressive governments, can really in real life be fixed through love and empathy.

But its a nice message for, ya know, children, that seemingly big problems can be solved without killing people.
