Friday, September 7th – Hi everyone, I’m Gemma and this is a continuation/evidence of my overdue rent post as I desperately need help to pay it and avoid eviction. 

As I stated in my previous post, I’ve been struggling these past few months, literally since the new year in January, because I’ve had my welfare benefits (Universal Credit and Housing Benefit) revoked under the UK’s controversial changes to how benefits are assessed and assigned and due to my mental illnesses, my benefits have been on and off sanctions ever since. 

The current sanctions on my U.C benefit aren’t due to be lifted until later this month and I’m not due to receive a payment until September 25th. However, my Housing Benefit was meant to be back in place for this month (September’s) rent but due to an error in which my housing association forgot to send the confirmation of my tenancy to DWP, my rent hasn’t been paid and a missed payment could result in eviction proceedings. 

As you can see from the images above my rent for this month is £256.93 and I have absolutely no income to pay it and I desperately need help until my benefits are reinstated. 

If anyone could spare any amount to help me, even if it’s just £1/$1/€1, it would literally save my life and, sharing definitely helps just as much as donations. Nobody has to donate if they can’t or don’t want to, I know we’re all struggling. Thank you for your help 💖
