every single month I hear about the heinously destructive bills conservatives want to pass this time and everyone needs to vote against but nobody talks about any new, wildly beneficial or positive bills that any other party is attempting to get passed.

Are there just…..not any?

Is it ALL just ignorant rich tyrants trying to undo progress? No attempts at new progress being made anywhere else?

Democrats introduce new bills all the time, but here’s the thing: the Speaker Of The House decides what gets voted on in the House, same with the Senate Majority Leader in the Senate. Neither Paul Ryan nor Mitch McConnell will bring a single Democratic bill to the floor for a vote (not to mention the fact that Republican committee chairs won’t even let them get that far in the first place), so anything they introduce is basically symbolic, and thus doesn’t get a lot of coverage. And of course all bills have to be signed by the president, and Democrats have nothing close to a veto-proof majority, so even if by some weird miracle both McConnell and Ryan agreed to bring Democratic bills to the floor, and they managed to get majorities in both chambers, Trump would still have to be on board. Welcome to life under Republican rule, it’s just this all the time. Go vote.

Fun fact! Civics wasn’t required at my very rich and well funded high school. So I imagine a lot of people didn’t know this! I know for sure I didn’t know this either. 

So yeah, vote vote vote.

Civics want even taught at my rural high school. Our “government” course was one semester and mostly talked about how superior the US government was to monarchy. The rest was pretty much going over the presidents…..
